Former MLA Caught After Days of Speculation
The political atmosphere in Bihar took a sharp turn after former MLA Anant Singh was arrested by Patna Police in the Dularchand Yadav murder investigation. The arrest occurred at Karingal Market in Barh, putting an end to ongoing talks about his surrender plans.

However, acting on precise intelligence, a special police unit headed by the Patna SSP moved in swiftly and detained him before any formal surrender could happen. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Bihar has now taken control of the case. DIG Jayant Kant is personally supervising the inquiry and has already inspected the crime location at Rasalbaspan Chak. Forensic experts, along with CID officers, conducted a detailed field analysis and gathered several important samples for examination.
Sources have revealed that several “unusual stones,” often used on railway tracks but not native to the region, were discovered near the Mokama Taal area—indicating a deliberate attempt to target the convoy. This discovery has added another layer of complexity to the investigation.

Often addressed as “Chhote Sarkar”, Anant Singh has long been regarded as one of Bihar’s most influential yet controversial politicians. Before entering politics, he had faced multiple criminal allegations, which he dismissed as politically engineered. Singh is contesting the upcoming 2025 Assembly Elections on a JD(U) ticket.
The case revolves around the October 30 incident, when Dularchand Yadav, considered a strong local leader, was shot dead during campaign activities in Mokama’s Taal region.
